The statutory body is
established for proper planning & co-ordinates development of
technical education system throughout the country. All India Council
for Technical Education (AICTE) was set-up as a national level Apex
Advisory Body to conduct survey on the facilities on technical
education and to promote development in the country in a coordinated
and integrated manner. To ensure the same, as stipulated in the
National Policy of Education (1986), AICTE be vested with statutory
authority for planning, formulation and maintenance of norms and
standards, quality assurance through accreditation, funding in
priority areas, monitoring and evaluation, maintaining parity of
certification and awards and ensuring coordinated and integrated
development and management of technical education in the country.
Our MBA and MCA programmes are approved by AICTE, New
Delhi.

The Mandate of the Directorate of
Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh is to :-
1. Implement
technical education policies of Government of Madhya Pradesh and
Central Government, act as coordinating agency between Government,
Industry and Institutions and to advice and assist the Government in
the all round development of technical education.
2. Support
accountability and total quality of technical education in the state
of Madhya Pradesh with effective and efficient Management. Interact
with external agencies like AICTE, CII, FICCI, R&D Organizations
and Institutes of Higher Learning.
3. Providing quality education
with judicious allocation of available resources to the technical
institutions so as to contribute to the economic well-being and
quality of life of the communities it serves.
MISSION
of the Directorate of Technical Education, Madhya Pradesh is to
facilitate excellence in Technical Education for the benefit of
students, employers and society at large with a focus on.
1.
Identification formulation and implementation of policy initiatives
for the development of Technical Education in emerging technologies
through linkage with business and industry, institutes of Higher
Learning, research organizations at national and international
levels.
2. Professional development of faculty.
3. Development
of technical skills and competence in women, disabled and the
underprivileged.
4. Promotion and creation of self sustaining
autonomous technical institutions to respond quickly to the trends,
forces and change in technological advancement and globalization of
the economy.

Ahilya Vishwavidhyalay was established in 1964 at Indore, the
business capital and educational hub of M.P. As the state's largest,
most comprehensive and diversified institution, DAVV sets the pace
for educational excellence and creates a climate of intellectual and
cultural development, both within and outside the state of Madhya
Pradesh. The university has been awarded with Four Star status on a
scale of five by National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC), University Grants Commission (UGC).
Considering the
multitude of nationalities and ethnicity here, it could be called a
global university. The university has earned a place for itself in
the country on account of its high quality instructional programmes,
research, consultancy, extension activities and self supported
programmes. All our courses have beeen approved by DAVV except MCA
which is approved by RGPV, Bhopal.

The Mission of
the University is to consolidate, rejuvenate and revitalize the
existing system of Technical Education and to create an environment
supportive of Quality Education and Research in the Technical and
Engineering Institutions of the State of Madhya Pradesh. This is the
only technical university of Madhya Pradesh which focuses on
significant improvement of the quality of technical education. The
university has affiliated more than 40 colleges of the state in its
hold and more than 12,000 students are enrolled. The MCA programme
of the institute has been approved by RGPV, Bhopal.
